Toprak Razgatlioglu will enter the MotoGP World Championship in 2026 as he has penned a one-year deal with Yamaha.
After months of speculation, it has now been announced that Toprak Razgatlioglu will enter the MotoGP World Championship with Pramac Yamaha in 2026.
The Turkish rider will make the bold switch from riding production-based machines in the World Superbike Championship to the prototype world of MotoGP.
After eight years in the World Superbike class with three different manufacturers, Razgatlioglu has won two titles and has decided it is time for a new challenge.
The 28-year-old has previous experience on the Yamaha M1 as he tested the MotoGP machine in 2023, while he raced for the Japanese manufacturer in the World Superbike Championship.
"We are thrilled to welcome Toprak back into the Yamaha family," Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director, Paolo Pavesio, said.
"Toprak, the most victorious Yamaha rider of all time in Superbike, has proven to be an exceptional talent, securing the WorldSBK Title twice, which is no mean feat.
"His transition to MotoGP is both a 'homecoming' and an exciting new challenge that's been set up with the clear goal of progressive growth over time.
"His fighting spirit and determination are a perfect fit for both the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team and Yamaha's bold MotoGP strategy, so we believe 2026 is the right time to make the move that many fans have been waiting for."
As it stands, Razgatlioglu is in the fight for his third World Superbike Championship and his second with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team.
The reigning Champion is second in the standings with 221 points, 31 less than his title rival Nicolo Bulega. Throughout the 2025 season, Razgatlioglu has won six races and stood on five further podiums.
