Valencia MotoGP test: New chassis better in corner entry for Rossi

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi tried a new, lighter frame during MotoGP testing at Valencia today and immediately found it was better in corner entry and put less stress on the front Bridgestone.

The new frame, which is around 1.5kgs lighter than his last incarnation, is also paired to a new and shorter exhaust which is also lighter in order to meet the lowered 2015 weight regulations.

“The chassis is the same but different. The Japanese say to me they expect to have the same feeling with the bike but I feel a little bit different, and it is in some areas. But I am happy because is better so I have less stress on the front in entry. Straight when I use the bike I was a little bit faster so we continue with that bike and at the end is a positive day,” said Rossi, speaking at Valencia.

“I tried the new exhaust for the weight, is more light because it doesn’t have the last part of the pipe and is not so bad but we have to set it a little bit for the mapping.”
