Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi will have to now wait until the Sepang MotoGP tests for a full seamless-shift gearbox as it didn’t materialise at Valencia.
Rossi, who has been using a box that is seamless on upshifts but not down, had a whole raft of other improvements to try over the past three days and said the team have made some good progress. He ended the test with a 1’31.250 set on Monday.
“It was an important test as we have different engine, different chassis, different swingarm. I try everything and I give my impression. I think we go back home very satisfied, we are fast today in the time attack,” said Rossi, speaking at Valencia.
“With the chassis we improve a bit the corner entry, the swingarm some good some bad for understand and the engine is a bit better. We wait for something else from Yamaha in the winter. I sincerely hope the seamless box will come in Sepang but I don’t know for sure.”
