Vinales no longer concerned about high track temperatures

Ecstar Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales no longer has concerns about being competitive at MotoGP races with high track temperatures as tweaks to setup at Misano proved the GSX-RR can now find grip on hot and greasy tarmac.

The Spaniard had to fight hard to bag fifth place and high temperatures are still not in the bike’s comfort zone but Vinales was able to bring home a decent points haul in Italy in conditions that were a lot different to Silverstone, where he dominated.

“The Motorland circuit is a very interesting one, it has a variety of areas that make it a demanding but fun layout. We arrive here with a positive feeling, the victory at Silverstone gave us an extra injection of confidence and in Misano we did the best we could considering the conditions,” said Vinales.

“Also, Aragon is tricky regarding the weather; it could be cold or extremely hot. Some races ago we were more worried about hot temperatures, but after Misano we can approach this with more confidence, as we finally proved we can be competitive in high temperatures; and that was one of the things we were worried about previously.”
