‘We must be patient’ urges Suzuki's Aleix Espargaro

Ecstar Suzuki’s Aleix Espargaro has said he and rookie team-mate Maverick Vinales have to be patient with the development of the MotoGP GSX-RR and stick to the team’s plan which is working for them for the time being.

Espargaro is aiming to bounce straight back from a disappointing weekend at Indianapolis and hopes the tight and technical parts of the Brno track will suit the Suzuki’s chassis.

“I’m so eager to get back working with my team soon as last weekend at Indy was one of the worst so far and I need to ride as soon as possible. I struggled to find a proper confidence with the GSX-RR and this affected the whole three days. It is strange because my machine has a very good base and we usually find a good effectiveness pretty soon, but this is racing and sometimes you have a bad weekend,” said the Spaniard.

“We have a good method to work to, therefore I am confident that already here in Brno we will get back to our usual competitiveness, trying to exploit the best out of our machine and be effective during practices. Brno will be a tough race, the uphill section is pretty steep and therefore we will need to exploit the chassis manageability in the twisty, technical part of the track. We also must be patient; the project is proceeding according to our plans and we are all focused on continuing this way.”
