CFMoto Aspar Racing allowed David Alonso to spin his first laps on a Moto2 machine in Jerez last week.
After a dominant Moto3 title victory in the 2024 season, David Alonso got his first taste of a Moto2 machine before the year ended.
The Colombian rider won 14 races across the 2024 Moto3 World Championship on his way to winning the title. Alonso accumulated a massive 421 points across the 20-round season, 165 points more than second place.
Across the two-day test at Jerez Alonso completed 145 laps and set a best lap time of 1:41.599.
“It has been a very positive test," Alonso said. "We are going into the winter break happy because we now know what Moto2 is.
"We have seen that it is not an easy category, we will have to work and be consistent. We have also detected that I must work on my strength during this winter.
"Yesterday I was happy to be faster on my first day with the Moto2 than I had been with the Moto3. With this bike you have fun, you must look for things that you didn’t look for on the Moto3 and that makes riding more fun.”
