Riders for Health will have a Yamaha YZFR-125, complete with unique MotoGP graphics and signed by MotoGP stars Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith, up for auction on Saturday 31 August at Silverstone's MotoGP round. The proceeds will support the lifesaving work of Riders for Health – the official charity of MotoGP.
The special Yamaha YZFR-125, donated by CMC Motorcycles - Yamaha’s largest UK dealership - is worth almost £4,500 at retail. With the addition of custom-made graphics and signatures from some of the most popular names in MotoGP, this is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase that you will not want to pass up.
CMC Motorcycles have created dual graphics for this one-of-a-kind machine. One side carries the colours of the Yamaha Factory Racing team of Valentino Rossi and current MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo. The other side is designed in the style of the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team and their British riders, Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith.
All four riders will sign the distinctive bike at Day of Champions, Riders for Health’s annual fundraising event, on Thursday 29 August at Silverstone. It will remain on display at Silverstone on Friday until the auction, which will take place from 15:55 - 16:25 on Saturday on the main stage.
Day of Champions is a highlight of the motorcycle racing calendar and a great day out for the whole family this summer holiday. What’s more, all of the money raised at the event goes to support Riders for Health’s vital work in Africa. Tickets cost just £15 and are free to kids under 16. To book your tickets, simply visit www.silverstone.co.uk or call the Silverstone ticket line 0844 3750 500.
Riders for Health’s co-founder and CEO, Andrea Coleman, is sure that the Yamaha auction will be a success, and will raise vital funds for the organisations’ lifesaving programmes in Africa. :We are so grateful to CMC Motorcycles for this wonderful donation’ she said. ‘MotoGP fans are some of the most generous fans in sports and every penny raised at this auction will make a huge difference to families across Africa who are cut off from basic health care.
"Riders for Health’s work combines our passion - the motorcycle - with a simple, practical model of health care delivery and, thanks to support every year from the motorcycles community, together we are showing that motorcycles save lives."
