Former World Superbike Champion and MotoGP race winner Troy Bayliss has confirmed he will take part in the Barcelona Superprestigio Dirt Track and challenge Marc Marquez on his home ground.
The event, on December 13, is perfectly timed for the three-time WSBK king, falling a fortnight after Bayliss’ own Baylisstic Scramble Team’s Challenge at Moto Expo Melbourne.
“I am excited to confirm that I will be accepting an invitation to take part in the Superprestigio in Barcelona. It is perfect timing for me, it will be two weeks after Moto Expo Melbourne so I will have a good lead-up event to help me prepare," said the Taree rider.
“This will be the second running of the Superprestigio and I'm sure it has grown now that a lot of top European riders are taking part. I am hoping that it will help raise awareness of Dirt Track in Australia and we will see some big names return for the Troy Bayliss Classic in the future.”
