Following a string of disappointing results, 20-year-old Wiltshire rider Tom Bridewell has split with the Lorenzini by Leoni Yamaha team.
Bridewell was contracted to ride for the Italian team in both the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup as well as the Italian Superstock Championship this season but a string of poor results, the latest being at Monza yesterday whereby he finished in 20th place, has meant that both he and the team have decided to go their separate ways.
"I'm disappointed it hasn't worked out but for some reason, we've really struggled this year. I've had some major issues with the handling of the bike which the team has done their best to help with but after Monza, we realised that I'm not doing myself or the team any favours by languishing down the order. I'd like to thank the team for the opportunity and wish them continued success in the future" he said.
Bridewell is now exploring other options both in Europe as well as the UK and hopes to be back on a competitive motorcycle again soon.
