Brookes on race pace at Suzuka Eight-Hours test

Milwaukee Yamaha BSB star Josh Brookes has completed his first two days of Suzuka Eight-Hours testing and is already lapping at the same pace he did in last year’s race despite losing yesterday afternoon’s session to rain.

The Australian rider, who is currently second in the MCE British Superbike standings, is lapping in the high 2’09-low 2’10s bracket and it is his first time riding the Monster YART R1 he will share with Broc Parkes and Kats Nakasuga.

“As always, we are trying to find a compromise with the riding position, gearing and other setup details as we have three riders who are all different shapes but for a first time out on the bike, I’m quite happy,” said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com from Tokyo.

“We had a good day and a half but yesterday was a total washout with monsoon rain. There are only a few things we really need to iron out. The bike is totally different to my BSB bike but we are there or thereabouts with it, there are just some compromises to be found.”
