Scotland’s Kev Coghlan will undergo surgery to repair six vertebrae after crashing at Schleiz during an IDM Superbike round at the weekend.
Coghlan was away from his usual European Superstock 1000 duties and riding for the MGM Yamaha team as their riders Max Neukirchner and Damian Cudlin are already out of action due to injury.
The youngster crashed early in the second race, was taken to the University Clinic in Jena and it is believed he will go under the knife in the near future. He was also scheduled to line up with Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes at this weekend’s race at Assen.
