AMA veteran Miguel DuHamel will be riding at this year's Daytona 200 in March on a privately-entered Blackfoot Suzuki GSX-R600 in the Daytona Spiortbike class.
The around-40-year-old was approached by former words Ducati man Pascal Picotte after not having much in the way of job offers for this year and has already got the backing of personal sponsors.
DuHamel says starting at this late stage could be to his advantage because the rest of the competition has also lacked time to develop their bikes, so a wily old veteran like himself could sneak in and upset the apple cart while they are getting themselves dialled in.
