Britain's Neil Hodgson continues to set the pace at Daytona's Dunlop tyre test lapping faster than his previous best of yesterday despite the track being washed clean by overnight rain.
The American Honda rider managed a 1'38.535 on Daytona's short-course, whcih was marginally quicker than his best from Friday, and still more than a second faster than Yamaha's Ben Bostrom.
Part of the problem at the track is that Dunlop have to supply the hardest compound tyres available because the steep banking at Daytona is very abrasive and very fast, so generates a lot of heat.
AMA Pro Racing timing and scoring started recording trap speeds at the start/finish line Saturday, and Hodgson’s bike was consistently fastest all afternoon and reached a top speed of 192.666 mph while Bostrom's was sixth quickest.
