Corona Extra Honda's Neil Hodgson has been rushed to hospital with a collapsed lung following a motocross crash at the weekend and he will miss out on the Fontana AMA Superbike race.
Hodgson, who got a second at the recent Daytona opener, is in Linda Hospital, California and is still under observation. He also dislocated his shoulder.
Team boss Tim Saunders said: "Neil hit a fallen rider's machine and went down hard. He was hospitalized because of breathing difficulties, found to be caused by a collapsed lung. He also injured some ribs and dislocated his shoulder."
2008 Corona Extra Honda rider and Auto Club Speedway Superstock winner Jake Holden will take over the piloting duties for the Honda CBR1000RR Superbike for the event.
