Jobless former World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson will find out where he is to ride by Friday of this week and it looks like an AMA seat with either Erion or Corona Honda.
His Honda America team pulled out of the AMA series on Friday night, with Hodgson getting the bad news at 10pm on the phone at his Isle of Man home - but it looks like he will be thrown a lifeline by the firm.
Speaking to www.bikesportnews.com this evening, while trying to reverse and eat at the same time, Hodgson said: "It looks like Honda are talking to Erion and Corona for a ride.
"I think that if I go to one of those teams, then they will get a bit more help from the factory but it looks positive. I have had conversations with Honda and they are trying to make something happen.
"I just want to race next year. I had a year off in 2007 and didn't like it so to be honest, I just want to ride on a bike that is competitive. Nothing is stopping me from going to World Superbikes or anything like that."
