MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews has gad to give up his seat aboard the GSR Kawasaki ZX-10R at Le Mans because the injuries he sustained during a crash at Mallory haven't healed sufficiently to take on the rigours of endurance racing.
The British Superbike star, whose team qualified in fourth place yesterday, will have to watch from the pitlane as BSB team-mate Julien Da Costa gets the race underway from fourth on the grid.
"It was a team decision, myself, the team manager and the team's osteopath. He said that although I am strong enough to do two Superbike races in a day, I would only be able to last around six hours here," said a disappointed Andrews, talking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"It's a shame and I am bit gutted to be honest because we are very competitive but I have to look after myself and be fully fit for Oulton Park in a couple of weeks' time."
