Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness is the latest big-name rider to confirm that he will be taking part in Mallory Park’s Bike Bonanza over the weekend of 11-13 July.

The Morecame rider, the fastest ever on two wheels around the Mountain Course en route to recording 20 victories so far on the Island will be bringing a blast from the past to the Leicestershire circuit.

McGuinness will be reminding everyone that he is champion on the short circuits as well as the roads as he takes to the track aboard the Vimto Honda that powered him to the 250cc British Championship back in 1999.

He will be lining among a host of other sporting stars, among them the multi-times World Champion Giacomo Agostini and the local hero John Cooper, a champion in his own right but forever remembered for his “Race of the Year” success over the Italian some four decades ago.

The event is all about bikes of all ages and type, with on-track parades, public lap booked in advance, club stands and displays and an autojumble while event sponsors H&H Auctions will be not only displaying race machines of yesteryear on their stand but will also be offering advice and guidance to anyone considering selling their machine, or needing a valuation.

Live music, a licensed bar on Friday and Saturday evenings, and chat-shows added to the party atmosphere and to ensure that everyone attending can move around more comfortably than in previous years, a new gate and crossing point will be opened to allow access from the outer trackside area to the paddock, thus avoiding any congestion on the bridge across the start-finish straight.
