Former MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams has entered his Superbike Academy team in the German IDM Supersport series in order to give rider Josh Elliott the back-up he requires.
The racing veteran says he is not in it to win it, just to be there to keep an eye on his 14-year-old protege. The venture sees the oldest and the youngest rider in the championship racing with support from Bridgestone Germany and Direct CCTV on Honda CBR 600 RRs prepared by A-B tuning. The team will be run by Racedays Promotions.
"I'm excited at the prospect of working with Josh to better his understanding of race preparation and the competition of Super Sport racing for team JM Superbike Academy. I'm not necessarily racing to win the IDM SS600 Championship but to impart what knowledge and craft I've gained during many years of competition within the World Championships. The team will focus on Josh Elliot's well being," said McWilliams.
