Honda TT Legends' rider Jason O'Halloran put in a cracking lap at the Oschersleben Eight-Hour this afternoon which was enough to take the team to fifth place in qualifying at the German circuit tomorrow.
The Australian Metzeler National 1000 Superstock man dropped his laptime to a 1'27.568 - less than a second off poleman Vincent Philippe - and the team's average was enough for fifth place.
"The session was really good today. The biggest thing for me was the improvement I made on the race tyre, which puts us in a good place for tomorrow. I didn’t get to use the best of the soft tyre because I just didn’t get a good run again, but having said that I did do a good lap, just not a perfect lap," said O'Halloran.
"I tried hard at the end there and got a clear lap but the best of the tyre was finished. I think we’re in the best position we’ve been in all season and we’re not far off the front runner’s pace on race tyres, so as long as we all out our best forward I think we’ll have a good day."
