The pair, who will be mentored by former World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson, stood in front of assembled media at a Silverstone bunfight today but weren’t remotely phased by the experienced.

“I’m really pleased to have been given this opportunity and hopefully it will be the start of something big. I am going to do a season with Mark Hodgson in Motostar on the 125 and then we will take it from there,” said Owens, who last year raced a bike that was older than him.

Skinner added: “My plan is to win the Superteen Championship this year and then who knows? I will still do a couple of rounds in Scotland but that’s the focus for me.”
