Provisional Suzuka Eight-Hours entry list released

FIM Endurance bosses have today released the provisional entry list for this year’s Suzuka Eight-Hours and the award for best team name goes to Team Hooters with Shota SAITO who will run a KTM 1190 RC8.

As well as the usual World Endurance entries, three MCE British Superbike riders are on the list. Josh Brookes and Josh Waters will ride for Monster Yamaha YSP and Yoshimura Suzuki respectively while Tommy Bridewell makes his debut alongside Aussies Wayne Maxwell and Rick Olsen in the YART team.

Jonathan Rea, who won the race in 2012, will be joined in the FCC-TSR team by his Pata Honda Supersport team-mate Lorenzo Zanetti. The Italian is due to fly out early next week to test the Fireblade. Leon Haslam’s 2013 winning team remains the same in 2014 with Michael Van Der Mark and Takumi Takahashi.

MotoGP Legend Kevin Schwantz has Noby Aoki and Satoshi Tsujimoto in his side of the Yoshimura garage while Waters is joined by Randy De Puniet and Takuya Tsuda.

Noriyuki Haga and Yukio Kagayama are back after their third place with Schwantz last year and have Moto2 front runner Dominique Aegerter as their third rider.

Guy Martin is absent from the R2CL team with which he raced the Bol d’Or while Scotland’s Jimmy Storrar rides in the Team Motors Events Suzuki squad.

The all-French Honda Racing team will run under number 111 in the late-July race while former works Honda 500cc rider and the first man to bust 200mph on a GP bike Shinchi Itoh is in the Teluru & KoharaRT Honda team.
