Sean Emmett will now have to wait for the Eid muslim religious festival to be over before he gets a decision from Dubai authorities as to if he will be given back his passport.
The former Grand Prix star has been held in the middle eastern country for eight months without charge following the death of wife Abbie in February as police removed his passport.
Emmett had a meeting with the public prosecutor earlier today and was told he would now have to wait until Eid was over in nine days before he would know his fate.
"It's a bit disappointing but that's the way it is. I will miss Brands British Superbikes now but I can keep up with it and I can watch MotoGP, so we will have to wait a bit longer now and see. I am hopeful though as I think they are going through their motions now," said Emmett, speaking to bikesportnews.com this lunchtime.
