Schwantz to make comeback at Suzuka Eight-Hours

Grand Prix legend Kevin Schwantz will make a return to racing at this year's Suzuka Eight-Hours, possibly the toughest endurance race in the world, and partner Yukio Kagayama and Noriyuki Haga.

The Texan has never won the prestigious event but says that the combined knowledge of the three riders should stand them in good stead. Schwantz will be 49 when he travels to the July event.

"With two of the toughest and fastest riders, along with three riders who know Suzuka well, I believe that there is a big chance to win," said Schwantz.

"Although I have been retired from racing for a while now, I have been riding very frequently as I organise a riding school, so there should not be any problem.

"I have been continuously saying that I have never won at Suzuka Eight-Hours, and would like to post a new page in my racing career by winning the race."
