Simon Andrews' parents Stuart and Dee have been left 'overwhelmed' by the support they have received from the Honda Legends team, friends, fellow racers and fans since their son's big crash at Le Mans on Saturday.
Andrews suffered multiple fractures including vertebare, in the crash as well as a punctured lung. He has since been brought out of an induced coma and is now off his ventilator.
Support messages have flooded in to his mum and dad, with Stuart telling bikesportnews.com today: "It has been overwhelming. So many people in the paddocks and fans have sent messages through various means, it has been fabulous and I would just like to thank them all for thinking of Simon so much at this tough time."
It is hoped that Andrews will be repatriated via aircraft within the next few days.
