Former MCE British Superbike sar Barry Burrell has completed his Daytona 200 test, putting in a day at the Jennings circuit and getting to within a second of the lap record.
The Bishop Auckland rider, who suffered an on-track contre temps with another unknown racer in the test, was positive after his first run out on the Hornee Jeans-backed Yamaha R6, saying there isn't a huge amount of setup work to be done.
"I had never seen the track before but it was worthwhile going out as we needed to change a couple of things like seat padding and get some shorter footpegs. It's all positioning stuff really," said Burrell, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"It was a bit strange getting back on a 600 after all this time and it felt like it needed some more power, but that's because I've been used to a Superbike. We put in some good laptimes and got to seven-tenths of the lap record, so I am pretty happy."
