Britain’s Leon Camier will trade his MotoGP production Honda for a German Superbike-spec BMW HP4 to ride in the Hockenheim IDM round this weekend.
Proving a versatile rider, Camier has been drafted in by the Wilber-BMW Racing Team. This is the fourth bike the former British Superbike Champion has ridden this season. It is not yet known whether Nicky Hayden will return to MotoGP action at Motorland Aragon - if not Camier will get his fifth outing on the Drive M7 Honda.
"We are very proud to have succeeded in bringing the first time in history, a MotoGP rider directly to the IDM Superbike,” said team boss Benny Wilbers.
