Smith’s BMW’s Peter Hickman set the quickest Superstock lap of TT 2018 so far with a flying lap of 130.829 with the rest of the front runner sticking to a single lap on the litre bikes.

Hickman was a second faster than his previous best of 130.619 set on Tuesday night with yesterday’s quickest man David Johnson in second place but well down, putting in a standing 127.562 compared to Hickman’s standing start lap of 130.087 set before his flier.

Gary Johnson was third on the leaderboard with a 127.360 on the RAF Reserves Kawasaki with Michael Rutter in fourth and Ian Hutchinson setting a 125.060 for fifth.

Sam West, Daley Mathison, Phil Crowe and Craig Never were the only other Superstock runners.
