Australian WorldSSP, Race One Results | Stefano Manzi takes victory on the R9, Booth-Amos returns to the podium

Gold & Goose

Stefano Manzi took the Yamaha R6's final win in the final race of 2024 and has taken the Yamaha R9's first win in the first race of 2025.

The first rider to take victory in 2025 in the World Superbike paddock was Stefano Manzi in the opening World Supersport race. The Italian has secured the Yamaha R9's first race win in its first appearance in the Supersport class.

Tom Booth-Amos returns to a World Supersport podium for the first time since Cremona in 2024. The British rider has secured his best result of his World Supersport career with a second-place finish.

Marcel Schroetter completed the first podium of the 2025 season on the Ducati Panigale V2. The German rider switched from MV Agusta to Ducati for this year.

The fourth manufacturer inside the top four was Bo Bendsneyder on the MV Agusta Reparto Corse machine. The Dutch rider qualified on pole but could not get the most out of his first stint before the pit stop.

Turkish rider, Can Oncu, took the decision to leave Kawasaki for Yamaha for the 2025 season. However, it seems the decision has paid off for Oncu as he finished his first race in fifth.

Former Moto3 World Champion, Jaume Masia, crossed the line in his first World Supersport race in first. However, due to a penalty that he received from a pit stop infringement he was demoted to sixth.

Home Hero, Oliver Bayliss, took his PTR Triumph Factory Racing machine to a seventh-place finish at Phillip Island.

Eighth and ninth places were closely contested by two French riders as Valentin Debise and Lucas Mahias battled it out in the opening race of the season.

Completing the top ten was Jeremy Alcoba on his World Supersport debut with the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team.
