Tommy Bridewell heads north of the border to Knockhill with a firm objective to depart the Scottish round of the 2023 British Superbike Championship (BSB) with an extended series lead.
The BeerMonster Ducati rider climbed to the top of the leaderboard during Round 3 of the season last time out at Donington Park, adding to a podium tally that has now seen him step on the rostrum in six of the nine races.
While the new Showdown format serves to keep things tight in the upper reaches of the title fight, Bridewell is confident he can build on his slender three-point lead over team-mate Glenn Irwin, but adds his fortunes will be dictated by qualifying.

“It is fairly obvious that Knockhill can be hard to make the passes; so we really need to focus on making the bike strong for one lap, which hasn’t been our weakness but it is something that we can improve.
“I think for me, Knockhill is crucial to really maximise the potential for one lap in qualifying, put ourselves ideally on the front row and worst case, on the second row, and take the race from there.
“I feel that we have good potential there and a good opportunity to do a good weekend, so we just need to let it play out and go from there.
“The goal is always to extend the championship lead and that is definitely something that I will be looking to do.”
