Leon Haslam kept his slim title hopes open with a return to the British Superbike Championship podium at Cadwell Park, his seventh of the 2023 season.
The 2018 BSB Champion has remained a low key figure in the title battle this year, Haslam’s lack of race-winning silverware being shored up by consistent point-scoring and top five finishes in lieu.
An elusive first victory of the year for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad UK team looked to be in the offing at Cadwell Park as Haslam got in amongst the race leaders in all three races.

Though technical issues consigned him to a retirement in race one, he bounced back with a fourth in race two and a third place finish in race three.
It keeps him within range of Tommy Bridewell, who is 76 points clear of Haslam at the top of the BSB table, ahead of the series’ return to a traditional points’ scoring format for the next two events.
“Cadwell is a real riders’ track, I’ve had good success here in the past. The BMW had the pace but not quite had a battling bike but to get a podium, we gave it all we could and I feel we maximised that.
“There is still a lot to learn about this bike but it’s all good. We made podiums at Donington and Oulton, so we know how the set-up works, the Ducatis and Yamahas are going strong so every weekend it is a big battle to get a win.”
