Alex Rins Injured in MotoGP Dutch TT Crash

Alex Rins' MotoGP Dutch TT lasted all of half-a-corner, as the #42 crashed out in dramatic fashion on the first lap.

Rins had made a decent start but was boxed to the outside of the first turn, and when he cracked the throttle he immediately lost grip at the rear, and he found it again it triggered one of the biggest high-sides of the year.

Rins suffered injuries to his right foot and wrist in the crash. Unfortunately for Rins, the foot injury is on the same leg as his 2023 injury, a broken tibula and fibula sustained during the Italian Sprint which also resulted in nerve damage.

The severity of Rins' injury is currently unclear, but the factory Yamaha rider flew to Madrid after the race on Sunday to undergo assessments on his condition. A return for this weekend's German Grand Prix has not yet been ruled out.

After the race in Assen, Rins said: "I had a very hard crash at the start. I'm already on my way to Madrid, where I will undergo further medical checks to understand the severity of the injuries in my right wrist and right foot. I hope to have updates soon."
