Toprak Razgatlioglu ends Friday in first place at Estoril as he is in the hunt for his second World Superbike title.
After one day at Estoril, it is Toprak Razgatlioglu who leads the way in Portugal. The Turkish rider could win his second World Superbike Championship this weekend. Razgatlioglu was 0.7 seconds quicker than second place on Friday afternoon.
Danilo Petrucci ended the day in second place on the Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati. The Italian rider finished second in both the wet and the dry conditions throughout the day.
Completing the same top three as Free Practice One was Alex Lowes in third place on the timesheets. Lowes could claim a top-four finish in the World Superbike standings for the Kawasaki Racing Team.
Alvaro Bautista ended his day in fourth place as he was competitive in the wet and dry conditions. The Spanish rider has not been given team orders to help his teammate so he will be fighting for race wins.
The top Honda rider at Estoril was Iker Lecuona in fifth place for Team HRC. Honda has made a massive step in recent rounds in World Superbikes as they have returned to the sharp end.
In sixth place was the Championship challenger Nicolo Bulega. The Italian rookie is second in the Championship and needs to win every race to close the Championship to Razgatlioglu.
The second Kawasaki Racing Team rider Axel Bassani managed to finish inside the top ten. The Italian rider has had an up-and-down rookie season for Kawasaki.
Bonovo Action BMW rider, Garrett Gerloff, ended his day in eighth place. The American rider has been on incredible form in recent rounds as he enters his final six races as a BMW rider.
The second Team HRC rider of Xavi Vierge ended the day inside the top ten as he finished in ninth.
The top Yamaha rider on Friday was Jonathan Rea in tenth place. The six-time World Champion has good memories from Estoril and needs some strong results this weekend.
