Garrett Gerloff tops the final Free Practice session of the season as he used a Qualifying tyre to set a lap time.
The 2024 World Superbike Championship has arrived at its 11th and final round of the season. After 33 races there are still three more to go and a World Champion to be crowned this weekend at Jerez.
In the final minutes of Free Practice Three Garrett Gerloff decided to use a Qualifying tyre. The American shot up the order and grabbed the top spot in the final Practice session of the weekend.
Andrea Iannone and Iker Lecuona, who finished in second and third also ran the Qualifying tyre to give them a trial run before the Superpole session.
The Championship rivals Nicolo Bulega and Toprak Razgatlioglu were next to each other on the timesheets. Bulega finished in fourth with Razgatlioglu in fifth.
Three British riders finished in sixth, seventh and eighth. Scott Redding was in sixth, Alex Lowes was in seventh and Jonathan Rea was in eighth.
The two-time World Superbike Champion, Alvaro Bautista, finished the session in ninth. With Kawasaki Racing Team rider, Axel Bassani completing the top ten.
There were five British riders outside the top ten. Bradley Ray was 15th, Sam Lowes was 19th, Tommy Bridewell was 24th, Tarran Mackenzie was 25th and Kyle Ryde was 26th.
