David Munoz has had a terrible start to the 2025 season but topped the opening session at Qatar.
The fourth round of the Moto3 World Championship is underway at the Lusail International Circuit. After a dreadful start to the year, it was David Munoz who took the top spot on Friday afternoon in Qatar.
Ryusei Yamanaka ended the afternoon in second place on the FRISNA - MT Helmets - MSi KTM. The Japanese rider was 0.015 seconds behind Munoz's best lap time.
The World Championship leader, Jose Antonio Rueda, ended Free Practice One in third place on the Red Bull KTM Ajo machine.
Moto3 rookie, Guido Pini, ended his first Moto3 session at the Lusail International Circuit in fourth place. However, he was 0.490 seconds behind his teammates' session-topping lap time.
Joel Kelso was the final rider inside the top five as he set a 2:05.052, which was 0.496 seconds off of Munoz's best time.
The top Honda rider in Free Practice One was Luca Lunetta, who ended the session in sixth place.
Dennis Foggia ended the afternoon session in seventh place on the CFMoto Aspar Team machine.
The Argentine Grand Prix winner, Angel Piqueras, was down in eighth place on the FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi KTM.
The two Leopard Racing riders completed the top ten as Adrian Fernandez was in ninth and David Almansa was in tenth.
Scott Ogden and Eddie O'Shea were outside of the top ten as they finished in 13th and 17th places.
