'I didn't expect to have these results so soon' - Bradley Ray assesses the first two rounds of the BSB season

Bradley Ray has reflected on the opening two rounds of the British Superbike Championship and his pace in the early stages of the season.

The 2025 British Superbike Championship marked the return of the 2022 Champion, Bradley Ray, who had been away in World Superbikes for the previous two seasons.

On his return to Britain, Ray had linked up with Steve Rodgers and the Raceways Yamaha squad, who has led the 28-year-old to early success.

In the opening five races, Ray and Raceways Yamaha have won four races and finished third in the fifth. They now sit on top of the Championship standings with a 12-point lead over the rest of the field heading into Round Three of the season at Snetterton.

"The first two rounds have obviously been pretty good for myself, Steve and the Raceways Yamaha team," Ray told BritishSuperbike.com ahead of Round Three of the season.

"Honestly, I didn’t really expect to have the results that we have been having so soon; I obviously knew we would be fast as we had been strong in testing at both Donington and Oulton and had been fast at round one.

"It was a shame to have had that third in the Sprint Race at the first one, but the pace this year has been incredible everywhere we have been – lap records have been going in the races and qualifying and the race times have been faster than they have ever been before, especially at Donington.

"I am feeling really good in the team and with the bike and being on the Yamaha for a good few years now, with the different spec in the World Championship the previous two years, so it is nice to be back in BSB on that spec bike again.

"There have been a few changes to the bike since I left in 2022, and I feel better now than I did in that season. The pace has been good and I have been maybe setting the pace and putting a bit of a target to chase at the first two rounds but I am just going about my business in my own way and working through the weekends in my own way."
