Martin believes he has activated a clause that allows him to leave Aprilia at the end of the 2025 season. However, Aprilia believe he is contracted for 2026 and is prepared to take him to court.

If Martin does get his way and leaves Aprilia after a single season, the Noale factory has identified Enea Bastianini as a suitable replacement.

"There has been contact," according to Sky Italia.

A move would only be possible for Bastianini if Martin does walk away. But it is also believed that Pramac Yamaha also has an interest in the Italian rider.

For this current MotoGP season, Bastianini joined the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad after losing his Ducati factory seat to Marc Marquez.

Since switching to the Austrian manufacturer, the Italian rider has not been able to find front-running form and has struggled in the first half of the season.

Bastianini finds himself 15th in the MotoGP World Championship after 10 Rounds of the 2025 season. He is also behind his fellow KTM riders of Pedro Acosta, Maverick Vinales and Brad Binder.

With a best result of seventh place to his name, rumours had already begun spreading that the Italian would be searching for a way out of his two-year deal with KTM.
