'We were showing our potential' - Joan Mir believes he has shown good form despite recent poor luck

Gold & Goose

Joan Mir has not finished the last three Grands Prix, but has been showing good form across recent race weekends before the summer break.

During the first half of the season, Joan Mir has shown flashes of his true potential on the Honda RC213V. However, he has not been able to consistently turn them into solid results.

The Spaniard has been in a run of poor luck as he has been involved in incidents that were not his fault in the last three Grands Prix in a row.

Mir has only finished four Grands Prix so far in the 2025 season, and has a best result of seventh place at the Aragon Grand Prix.

But is hopeful that he can make further improvements in the second half of the year.

"The break has been good to recharge, focus on training and reset a little bit after some tough moments in the start of the year," Mir said.

"Now we start an intense push right through to the end of the season, it’s important to be well prepared for it.

"In 2024, we made a good step in the second part of the season, so I hope that we can repeat that again as a team.

"We have a lot of information, and now it’s time to put everything on track and show our potential because aside from some unfortunate moments before the break, we were showing our potential."

After 12 rounds of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, Mir finds himself 19th in the standings and has been taken out of the last three Grands Prix in a row.
