'There is pain everywhere, but no injuries' - Jorge Martin provides an update after his Austrian Grand Prix crash

Gold & Goose

Jorge Martin confirms that he will 'compete again next week' in Hungary after his Austrian Grand Prix crash.

For the second time this season, Jorge Martin has ended a Grand Prix weekend in the gravel. However, this time the reigning World Champion is uninjured and will not return to the sidelines.

On the 14th lap of the Austrian Grand Prix, Martin crashed at Turn Seven and got caught up with the bike. Originally, there was fear that he had suffered another injury as he was taken to the medical centre for a check-up.

But after the race, he was able to confirm that 'there are no injuries' and he will be able to compete next week at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

"I feel great actually," Martin told TNT Sports after his crash at the Austrian Grand Prix.

"There is pain everywhere at the moment. But luckily, there are no injuries, so we can compete again next week.

"Luckily, we have another race so we can focus on that one and not on today. Overall, the weekend was great. We were closing the gap to the front, we improved our base setup, and we will start from a better place in Hungary.

"I think my biggest mistake is that I have missed experience with this bike in the first few laps. So, I was already in ninth after overtaking five riders in the first two corners.

"I was in a good place, I was not going to force my way past anyone else, but then I started receiving a lot of overtakes from other riders. I tried to come back and do some moves, but I suffered a lot on the front. I still need more laps, and it is a shame we did not make it to the end of the race.

"But it is like this, so hopefully we can continue to compete again next week."
