Rory Skinner will not compete across the remainder of the weekend after being declared unfit at Oulton Park.
After two crashes on Friday at Oulton Park, Rory Skinner will miss the remainder of Round Ten of the British Superbike Championship.
The Cheshire Mouldings Ducati rider has been declared unfit under the series concussion protocol after suffering a big highside in Free Practice Two on Friday afternoon.
Skinner will hopefully be back in action at the series finale in two weeks at Brands Hatch.
"Oulton Park, British Superbikes penultimate round of the year, has not quite gone to plan for the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati team," Steve Plater said in a social media post from Cheshire Mouldings Ducati.
"Now, the weather has not been fantastic. We have just come from a fabulous Assen meeting, where Rory Skinner had a fabulous ride from 18th on the grid through to second place, just in one of the races, and is fighting hard for third in the Championship.
"Here at Oulton Park, the weather was unkind to everyone yesterday. Rory had a couple of crashes in the wet. The first one was a big crash going down towards Lodge corner, as soon as he grabbed the front brake, the bike went down. No serious injuries, some injuries to the Ducati Panigale, but Rory was good.
"In FP2, he came out from a pit stop and was on his first lap, with Leon Haslam following closely behind. They were building up to start to push, when he [Rory] had a big highside out of the Knickerbrook.
"Unfortunately for Rory, he had a big bang on his head. So, we took him to the Medical Centre, and they declared him unfit for the rest of the weekend. Obviously, there is a protocol in the British Superbike Championship for a ten-day ban after any concussion.
"The good news is, there are two weeks until Brands Hatch. Which gives Rory plenty of time to follow protocol for him to get fit and hopefully push for thiurd place in the British Superbike Championship."
