Marco Bezzecchi is still 'adjusting some details' ahead of the MotoGP Sprint Race

Gold & Goose

Marco Bezzecchi is hoping to make further steps with his electronic setup ahead of the MotoGP Sprint Race.

On Friday, Marco Bezzecchi was one of the main riders at the top of the timesheets and looked set to bounce back after a difficult weekend at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Italian rider was in fourth place at the end of the opening day at the Portuguese Grand Prix, and when the slick tyres came out at the end of the Saturday morning Free Practice Two session, Bezzecchi was able to launch himself up the timesheets to fourth place.

After securing his spot in Q2 for Saturday, Bezzecchi was able to watch the track conditions evolve during the Q1 session, and when it came to his time to go onto the track, he was able to secure his fourth pole position of the 2025 season.

"It was a tough session, but it was positive for us," Bezzecchi told TNT Sports after claiming pole position for the Portuguese Grand Prix.

"This morning I felt better than I did yesterday, so I could be competitive from the first laps out on track. I am very, very happy.

"In the last sector, I was risking a lot, but it is Qualifying. I am happy about the job we have done until now.

"Now we can focus on the two main events, but at the moment I am enjoy."

Ahead of the MotoGP Sprint Race on Saturday afternoon, Bezzecchi is still looking to make changes to his Aprilia RS-GP to help him when the grip from his rear tyre decreases during the race.

"We still have to adjust some details," he explained.

"Especially with the electronics, in the last sector when the tyre grip goes down, it is super tough. Yesterday, we saw Alex [Marquez] is very quick; there are many, many strong riders. We cannot rest."
