David Almansa set the pace on Friday afternoon and set a new Moto3 Lap Record around the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
In the final Moto3 session of the opening day at the Valencia Grand Prix, David Almansa set a new Moto3 Lap Record and topped the timesheets for the Leopard Racing squad.
Completing a Leopard Racing 1-2 on Friday at Valencia was the second rider, Adrian Fernandez. The Spaniard was 0.310 seconds behind his teammate Almansa at the end of the session.
The top KTM rider was the Red Bull KTM Tech3 rookie, Valentin Perrone. This weekend marks the end of his rookie season, and he will want to go out with a positive result.
Guido Pini is entering his final weekend as a Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider, and the Italian ended Friday in fourth place on the KTM.
Rounding out the top five was the third Honda rider in the top ten, Taiyo Furusato, who was 0.579 seconds behind Almansa on his Honda Team Asia machine.
Just outside of the top five was the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider, Alvaro Carpe, who ended Friday in sixth place.
Jesus Rios is in his second Grand Prix as a Moto3 rider, and ended the opening day at Valencia in seventh place for the Rivacold Snipers Team.
The two riders who will fight for second place in the Moto3 Championship on Sunday ended Friday next to each other on the timesheets, as Maximo Quiles was in eighth place and Angel Piqueras was in ninth place.
Completing the top ten was the LEVELUP - MTA rider, Joel Kelso, who is in the final round as a KTM rider before he jumps on a Honda in 2026.
Irish rider, Casey O'Gorman, secured a Q2 spot on Friday afternoon as he ended the opening day in 12th place on the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP machine.
British riders Scott Ogden and Eddie O'Shea will have to go through Q1 on Saturday, as they were in 19th and 20th places.
