Adrian Huertas has suffered fractures in both radii in his Free Practice One crash at the Valencia Grand Prix.

After the opening Moto2 session of the weekend at the Valencia Grand Prix, Adrian Huertas has been declared unfit for the remainder of the Grand Prix.

During Free Practice One at Valencia, Huertas crashed at Turn Six and suffered injuries to both radii and will now need to undergo surgery in the offseason.

The Spaniard high-sided at Turn Six on damp patches, and his incident prompted the Red Flags to be waved, leading to a lengthy delay as track conditions were assessed.

A statement from the Italtrans Racing Team regarding Huertas said:

"During Free Practice One, Adrian Huertas suffered a crash that unfortunately resulted in injuries to both arms. Medical checks have confirmed that he has fractures in both radii. Sadly, one of the fractures is displaced, which means surgery will be required.

"Adrián is officially unfit for the ValenciaGP, but despite the pain, he is in good spirits. He’s already thinking ahead to get back on the bike and start preparing for a strong 2026 season.

"The whole team wishes Adrián a fast and smooth recovery. We can’t wait to see him back where he belongs."

The 2024 World Supersport Champion was in the final round of his rookie Moto2 season, and during the season, he secured two top ten finishes and scored points on four other occasions.

Huertas will remain with the Italtrans Racing Team for a second season in 2026 and will now focus on recovering ahead of pre-season testing.
