Marco Bezzecchi overcame an early mistake to take his fifth Pole Position of the season at the season finale.
In the final Qualifying session of the season, Marco Bezzecchi was able to secure his fifth MotoGP Pole Position of the year.
In the early stages of the Qualifying Two session at Valencia, Bezzecchi made a mistake and was in the gravel early on. However, after returning to his garage and calming himself down, the Italian bounced back on his second run.
"It was super cool, I had a lot of fun on that lap," Bezzecchi told TNT Sports after the final Qualifying session of the season.
"Honestly, at the beginning, I was feeling quite afraid as I made a mistake, and I was already at the limit. So, I had to calm myself to be more focused and try to ride in a more relaxed way.
"Fortunately, I went in earlier than the others, so I was alone with my bike. It was super nice.
"Thanks to the boys, we now must concentrate on the Sprint and the Race."
Aprilia has never won a MotoGP race at Valencia. When asked if Bezzecchi could make more Aprilia history this weekend, he played down his chances.
"It is going to be tough," he explained.
"As you know, at this track everyone is super close, and the wear of the tyre is super high. So, we will try to get a good start and then fight with the fastest guys.
"Alex [Marquez] and [Fabio] di Giannantonio are super fast, as well as Pedro [Acosta]. The two Trackhouse riders [Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura], are super quick, as well as [Franco] Morbidelli.
"It is difficult to say one name that is not super fast, so we will try our best."
