Lap times from the first day of the 2026 MotoGP Sepang Shakedown test in Malaysia at the end of the day.

Aleix Espargaro was the fastest rider on MotoGP's first day of 2026, his 1:58.091 putting him 0.5 seconds clear of the field. For reference, the race lap record was set in last year's Malaysian Grand Prix by Alex Marquez at a 1:58.873, and the all-time lap record belongs to Francesco Bagnaia who set a 1:56.337 in Q2 to set pole position in 2024.

Pol Espargaro was the only rider other than his brother in the 1:58s, while Dani Pedrosa put a second KTM in the top-10.

Toprak Razgatlioglu was fifth-fastest overall and the top Yamaha in the times, albeit 1.5 seconds behind HRC's Espargaro.

Yamaha test riders Augusto Fernandez and Andrea Dovizioso had six bikes to ride, although two of these did not set lap times.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori has eight bikes to run-in this week, and rode four on the opening day.

Ducati's only rider in Sepang this week is test rider Michele Pirro, with no rookies on their books in 2026. The Italian's best time was good enough for seventh-fastest.

LCR Honda rookie Diogo Moreira had two bikes to ride, and his best effort put him 12th.
