The Australian WorldSBK is set to go without Andrea Iannone later this month, the Italian not present on the event’s provision entry list.
Iannone was an un-announced name on the provisional entry list for the 2026 WorldSBK season when it was published in late November. The Italian was slated to ride a Ducati for the Cainam Racing team, having been replaced by Lorenzo Baldassarri at Go Eleven.
The team's name comes from the reverse spelling of Iannone’s ‘Maniac’ nickname.
However, Iannone made neither of the post-season tests late last year, nor either of the tests in January at Jerez and Portimao.
The publication of the entry list for the Australian Round has confirmed that Iannone will not be present there, either, meaning Ducati will be limited to eight bikes – still more than any other manufacturer – at the opening round of the upcoming season.
The entry list also confirms the wildcard entry for Ryan Vickers with HRC and the fill-in ride for Tetsuta Nagashima at the factory Honda team in place of the injured Somkiat Chantra.
