The 2026 Isle of Man TT will see Davey Todd on a third manufacturer in the Supersport class in the space of three years.
Todd rode a Ducati Panigale V2 for TAS Racing in 2024, and was on the Padgett’s Honda CBR600RR last year, but in 2026 he will ride a PHR Performance Triumph – PHR, of course, being the motorcycle preparation firm run by his 8Ten Racing co-owner and teammate Peter Hickman.
Todd will ride the Triumph at both the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT road races this year, and the PHR move also comes with an appearance at the Daytona 200 for Todd, the MotoAmerica season opener scheduled for 5–7 March.
“I’m super-excited to be joining the PHR Performance Triumph team for the Daytona 200 and also on the roads,” said Todd, who is winless at the TT in the Supersport class but who won the second middleweight class race at the 2024 North West 200 aboard the TAS Ducati.
“[I’m] excited to be continuing with the 765 in the Supersport classes at the NW200 and the Isle of Man TT,” Todd added.
“We already know that the Street Triple is competitive on the roads from what ‘Hicky’ [Peter Hickman] has done.
“I have also battled against him, so I know first-hand how strong the bike is.
“I’m super-excited to get going with this project with Daytona first, a huge thanks to the guys at Triumph Racing and also to PHR and Pete for putting this together for me.”
Thinking about Daytona, Todd added: “It’ll be my first time at Daytona, not only to watch but also to compete in the event itself; it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for years and to be on the Triumph, a winning bike, alongside my good friend Pete is going to be really fun.
“I know we can go there, be super competitive and do a good job for Triumph.
“I’ve already had a few laps on the Street Triple 765 and my initial feeling is that it is a really good Supersport package, it’s different to what I have ridden in the past, but in a good way and I’m already feeling comfortable.”
Hickman will also return to Daytona this year for his fourth consecutive appearance at the event having first gone with Triumph in 2024 with Richard Cooper as teammate.
“I’m really excited for 2026, our Triumph project with PHR Performance has already been really strong and we’re looking to make it even stronger,” Hickman said.
“Of course, going to the Daytona 200 this year with Davey [Todd] as my teammate is really good; he has already had a few laps on the Street Triple 765 and likes it. We have a proper test planned, but his initial feelings with the Triumph are really good.
“We will be doing a test just before Daytona, as we did last year, and putting a huge effort into the event. We have been there for two years and finished fourth last year just off the podium.
“This year we want to go at least one step better and be on the podium; ideally the goal is for both myself and Davey to be on the podium!
“Davey also joins PHR on the roads for the Supersport classes, alongside myself and Pierre [Yves Bian], which is going to be awesome having three Triumphs on the grid with PHR Performance at the North West 200 and the TT Races.
“We also have some exciting news coming soon about a sponsor for the roads, so all in all it’s looking to be a really exciting season for us.”
