Jake Dixon will not race this weekend at the Australian WorldSBK after crashing on the final day of testing.
Dixon crashed at the beginning of the first session of the second day of the WorldSBK test at Phillip Island, going down at turn 11. The British rider was taken to the medical centre after the crash, where it was determined he had fractured his left wrist and sustained a contusion to his left elbow.
Afterwards, a statement from Honda confirmed Dixon's withdrawal from the Australian Round.
"Honda HRC rider Jake Dixon suffered a crash at Turn 11 this morning during the second day of the official WorldSBK test at the Phillip Island Circuit (Australia)," the statement reads.
"Following initial checks at the circuit medical centre, it was found that Dixon sustained fractures to his left wrist and a contusion to his left elbow. The British rider will now travel to Melbourne for further medical assessment.
"As a result of the injuries sustained, Dixon has been declared unfit to compete in the upcoming Australian Round."
Dixon's absence from the Australian Round means neither of HRC's two full-time riders will race at the opening round of the 2026 season, after Dixon's fellow rookie Somkiat Chantra was ruled out of the Phillip Island race following a crash at Sepang that resulted in a broken arm.
Chantra's injury happened soon enough for Honda to call on test rider Tetusta Nagashima to replace him in Australia, but Dixon's - like Jonathan Rea's test injury last year that saw the then-Yamaha rider not replaced for Australia - happened too late and so Nagashima will be the only rider in the factory garage this weekend. Ryan Vickers will also race this weekend having been given the wildcard originally intended for Nagashima.
