A one-off livery will be worn by the McAMS Yamaha team at one BSB round this summer as part of the championship’s 30th anniversary season.
The McAMS Yamaha team, which last year was the Raceways team but has gained McAMS title sponsorship after the Mar-Train team pulled out of the championship at the end of last year, will run a tribute to the Cabury’s Boost Yamaha team of the 1990s later this year.
More specifically, the livery will be used at the Brands Hatch round on 17–19 July. The Cadbury’s Boost livery was decided upon after a series of social media polls voted in by BSB fans.
The Brands Hatch weekend will also see a parade lap for Yamaha owners as well as a selection of classic BSB Yamahas.
“In a further extension of Yamaha’s heritage-inspired activity across the weekend, a parade lap will also take place over the weekend 18/19 July at Brands Hatch,” reads a statement from BSB.
“The lap will invite Yamaha owners to take to the Grand Prix circuit, alongside a host of familiar Yamaha bikes and faces that have proudly shaped the past 30 years of British Superbike Championship history.”
BSB’s 30th anniversary season is set to get underway next month on 3–5 May at Oulton Park. The McAMS team’s Bradley Ray was fifth-fastest at the recent test at Donington Park, behind Bimota’s Max Cook, the two TAS Racing Yamahas of Danny Kent and Rory Skinner, and Ryan Vickers on the Honda Racing UK CBR1000RR-R.
