Jack Kennedy will race the Dutch WorldSBK this weekend in the Supersport class with the Honda Racing team.
Kennedy, whose regular ride is with the Honda Racing UK team in the BSB Supersport class, will stand in this weekend for Corentin Perolari.
Perolari is not out of action through injury, but because of a clash with the Endurance World Championship, in which he will race this weekend for the FCC TSR Honda France team alongside Alan Techer and John McPhee.
His consequent absence from Assen this weekend means a first WorldSBK round for Kennedy since he was full-time in the World Supersport class in 2015. This weekend’s race will mark Kennedy’s 30th in the class.
“I know Assen well, I won last year when the British Championship raced there and I've always enjoyed riding it, it's hard not to feel pride and excitement at the opportunity to race in the World Championship,” said Kennedy,
“It's a fast and incredibly competitive grid, I'm looking forward to using this as an opportunity to springboard into a 2026 campaign.
“I'd like to thank the Honda Racing World Supersport team for the offer to ride, as well the Honda Racing UK team for accommodating the opportunity.”
Kennedy was fastest overall in the Supersport category at the recent Donington Park BSB test, and will be back in action for Honda Racing UK next week on 22–23 April for the Oulton Park test. Round one of the British Supersport Championship takes place at Oulton Park just over a week later on 3–5 May.
