Lap times from the qualifying session at the 2026 Assen BSB, the first Showdown round of the 2026 season.

Conditions for qualifying at Assen deteriorated throughout, from the beginning of Q1. Some dry times were put in at the beginning of that first session, but by the end of Q2 it was wet tyres all-round.

Leon Haslam made the best choice in Q2 by starting the session with intermediate tyres. Others would switch to the intermediate rear later on, but Haslam got the best of the conditions in the opening minutes of the session and took advantage of that to take pole position.

Ryan Vickers was one of the later riders to switch to an intermediate rear and he took second place, beating Danny Kent who went straight out with the intermediate at the start and qualified third.

Kyle Ryde took fourth ahead of Scott Redding, the pair of them switching tyres mid-sesssion. Jason O'Halloran completed the top-six.

Rory Skinner was seventh ahead of Storm Stacey and Glenn Irwin, while Max Cook completed the top-10.

Bradley Ray was fastest on Friday but struggled to set a lap time in Q2, ultimately finishing 13th.

FP3

Ryan Vickers topped a wet FP3 session at Assen and was the only rider to lap in the 1:45s.

Max Cook and Ilya Mikhalchick completed the top-three, ahead of Joe Talbot, Christian Iddon, and Jason O'Halloran in the top-six.

Bradley Ray, who was fastest overall on Friday albeit 11th in pre-qualifying, finished the session last having completed only four laps compared to the five or six of the rest of the field, with the exception of Scott Redding (eighth) who completed only three laps.
